dc.description.abstract | Beyond the Cloud Shadow: Book I is a short, literary novel about a man obsessed with reconnecting with his dead wife. The story is chiefly told through the main character’s email correspondences with his grief counsellor, who has assigned him the task of recording his love story in written form. The novel deals with the themes of unconditional love, existential confusion, loss, and the supernatural. The book blends several genres (Literary, Mystery, Bildungsroman, and Science Fiction) and employs a found document format in an effort to explore the possibilities of the traditional literary novel, while maintaining a deep engagement with character and plot. | |
