Soft Palette is a collection of poems in four sections. Interested in sound play and intricate lyricism, the collection’s voice attempts to carefully attend to every turn of phrase. Poems appear in both free verse and set forms such as the sonnet and ghazal. This collection is invested in themes of religion, art, literature, and especially in the questions of what and how we choose to worship. These poems seek to imbue the secular with sanctity and ask readers to reimagine religious practices as acts not confined to a cathedral but in all imaginable spaces––from a curated museum collection to a country field.
