Abstract
The historiography of the Chicane Movement (or El Movimiento in Spanish) has prioritized California and Texas as the major theaters of the Movement, leaving Colorado’s role neglected by scholars. As a response to the poor quality of education enjoyed by Colorado Chicanes, Escuela Tlatelolco was founded in 1970 by the Crusade for Justice, and operated for nearly five decades, instilling Movimiento values in the next generation. Complemented by an online digital exhibition, this study seeks to elevate Escuela Tlatelolco and Denver as a whole in the study of Chicane activist history.
