"All The World's A Stage" : Learning to Love The Bard
    Stahl, Abby Louise
This thesis seeks to examine various methods of incorporating performance to already-existing English education in the standard American classroom to better introduce Shakespeare to students of middle-school and high-school age. By examining the American education system’s history with Shakespeare in the classroom and comparing it to various methods used in small pockets of the country and internationally, readers will be able to weigh the benefits to students both during their educational career and afterwards as they move forward in society. The primary method of research is a combination of traditional literary analysis and educational and performance theory. This thesis will aid in the perspective readers may have on the legacy of the Bard and the role his works play within youth culture today and moving forward.
